Summer Schools Football Championship Concludes with Al-Tahrir’s Victory in Capital Secretariat

Sana'a: The Summer Schools Football Championship for district teams in the Capital Secretariat reached its conclusion on Wednesday at Al-Dharafi Stadium. The tournament was a part of the summer activities for the year 1446 AH and was organized by the Youth and Sports Office of the Municipality.

According to Yemen News Agency, the final match witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Ali Hadhban, Deputy Minister of Youth for Sports Affairs, Abdullah Obaid, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Municipality, his deputy Zaid Jahaf, and other youth and sports leaders. The stadium was filled with a large crowd eager to witness the competition between the Al-Tahrir and Bani Al-Harith district teams. The match ended in a 1-1 draw during regular time, but Al-Tahrir emerged as the champion by winning in the penalty shootout.

The tournament was held under the patronage of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, in cooperation with the Capital Municipality's Subcommittee and the Al-Shaab Social Development Foundation. The event aimed to promote the sports, educational, and cultural development of summer school students.

In addition to the football championship, the event also featured a cultural competition. Al-Tahrir district team was celebrated as the champion of the tournament, with Bani Al-Harith as the runner-up. The winners of the cultural competition were also honored, with Al-Sab'een district team taking the top spot, while Al-Ma'in and Al-Wahda district teams shared second place.
