Hajjah: Summer sports activities continue in Hajjah governorate, including the summer football tournaments in the governorate's districts. In Qafil Shamar district, the Imam Ali School team faced al-Fath School team, with Imam Ali School team winning 5-4.
According to Yemen News Agency, Murad Shali, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, explained that the governorate is witnessing an unprecedented surge in sports activities across all districts. He noted that the summer football tournament in the governorate's capital includes 18 teams, while Khairan Al-Muharraq has 48 teams, Sharas District has 20 teams, Al-Shaghaderh and Aslam districts have four teams each, Bani Al-Awam has 30 teams, Kushar has four teams, Aflah Al-Sham has six teams, and Qafil Shamar has 21 teams.
Shali noted that the sports competitions are part of the Youth and Sports Office's plans in the governorate, in coordination with the education sector and the governorate's summer program subcommittee. He emphasized the importance of the tournaments in discovering, developing, and nurturing sporting talent, and in fostering healthy competition among the summer program teams. He explained that other sporting activities, such as volleyball, marathons, and athletics, will also be implemented during the summer program.
