Sana'a: The Supreme Elections and Referendum Committee organized a commemoration event in Sana'a today to mark Ashura - the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them both) for the year 1448 AH. At the event, which was attended by the Vice President of the Committee, Judge Mohammed Al-Azeer, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Elections Committee, Mohammed Al-Jalal, explained that the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is not merely a passing event, but a revolution against injustice and oppressors, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice, heroism, and faith.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Jalal highlighted the lessons and wisdom of the commemoration of Ashura in adhering to the principles of sacrificing oneself and one's wealth for the sake of Allah. This revolution has inspired humanity and become a beacon for the free people of the world, illuminating the path for those striving for freedom, dignity, honor, and independence.
At the event, which was also attended by the heads of the Technical Sector, Judge Ghaleb Salah, the Legal Sector, Judge Ali Al-Samet, and the Foreign Relations Sector, Judge Mohammed Bazi, Al-Jalal addressed the exalted status of Imam Hussein. He emphasized that Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, sensed the gravity of the situation and the consequences of entrusting the affairs of Muslims to those who were misguided.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Election Committee praised the victories achieved by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which he considered a victory for the axis of resistance, and for Yemen in particular, which has been subjected to aggression and a blockade for more than 11 years. He considered the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle a revolution to confront injustice and the arrogant Zionists and Americans.
Al-Jalal commended the statement issued by the General Mobilization Forces, affirming their combat readiness to confront the aggression coalition. He emphasized the readiness of the leadership and members of the Supreme Elections Committee for any options adopted by the revolutionary and political leadership to reclaim rights, recover resources, and expel the occupiers.
Meanwhile, Abdul Salam Al-Harthi, the committee's cultural officer, explained that the commemoration of Ashura is an important milestone and a comprehensive school of lessons that the nation needs today in its struggle against the leaders of disbelief, both Jewish and Christian, and in changing its internal reality and its perception of the enemy.
