Taiz:The local authority in Taiz province strongly condemned Saudi aggressive strikes on Saturday, which targeted civilian homes in the Hamir al-Jabal area of Maqbana District. The attacks resulted in the deaths of nine people, including women and children, and injured 16 others, according to an initial toll.
According to Yemen News Agency, several victims remain trapped under the rubble as rescue efforts face severe difficulties due to extensive destruction and continued Saudi aircraft overflights.
The statement from the local authority accused Saudi forces of deliberately targeting civilians and residential areas, asserting that these attacks would not weaken the resolve of Taiz residents. It also called for heightened mobilization to support the fronts and defend Yemen’s territory and sovereignty.
The statement further criticized Saudi Arabia’s actions, highlighting that the targeting of civilians and infrastructure, along with the continued escalation and deliberate attacks on homes inhabited by civilians, demonstrate a clear disregard for humanitarian and moral values and principles.
