Taiz: In anticipation of Ramadan, the local authority in Taiz province announced a unilateral initiative to keep the al-Shaab Palace Roundabout Road – al-Kamb route open 24 hours a day.
According to Yemen News Agency, Acting Governor of Taiz Ahmed al-Masaw stated that the initiative aligns with directives from national leadership aimed at alleviating citizen suffering on both sides of Taiz city. He emphasized the local authority’s readiness to implement the initiative from the first night of Ramadan.
Al-Masaw called on the opposing side in Taiz city to reciprocate this action and facilitate citizen movement, placing a high priority on citizen welfare. He reiterated that this initiative builds upon a previous opening that took place on the first of Muharram and affirms their commitment to maintaining a 24-hour opening.
Al-Masawa expressed hope that the initiative would be met with understanding and would evolve into a permanent solution for citizen movement throughout the year.
Taiz Security Director Brigadier General Shukri Mahyoub confirmed that security arrangements are in place to serve citizens day and night. He stated that they are prepared to maintain the road’s opening for 14 hours daily to facilitate travel.
