Taiz Public Works Advance with Key Infrastructure Projects

Taiz: Ongoing road construction, paving, and flood debris clearance efforts are progressing across the city, as the Office of Public Works in Taiz intensifies its initiatives to improve local infrastructure.

According to Yemen News Agency, Engineer Bakil Hameed, Director of the Taiz Public Works Office, announced the completion of asphalt paving for the second phase of the 21 September Street project, covering an area of 200 meters. He also noted that the protection works and side drains for this project are near completion, currently at 93 percent.

Engineer Hameed further detailed the ongoing efforts to remove soil and debris from the sides of the main 'Taiz-Sana'a' road. This work is crucial to prevent potential damage and ensure the longevity of the asphalt. The importance of clearing debris along 21 September Street and the Taiz-Sana'a route was emphasized for maintaining road integrity.

In addition, the road excavation project in Qubeir, Al-Rawna District, is actively continuing with the Public Works Office's equipment. This project, a collaborative effort between the local authority and the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, has reached 70 percent completion.

Further updates included the opening of drainage channels in the Al-Huban and Al-Jund areas, successfully clearing roads affected by recent floods in the governorate. Protective works are also ongoing for Abu Zaid Suwaikh Street at the Maawiya junction in Al-Taiziyah District, with the project nearing its final stages at 98 percent completion.
