Sana'a: The Taiz branch of the Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority initiated a field inspection campaign targeting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stations across the governorate to ensure compliance with legal metrology requirements and approved technical standards.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign concentrated on examining LPG dispensing meters, identifying violations, and initiating legal actions against operators who breached regulations.
During the inspection, Engineer Riyadh Al-Bukhaiti, the branch's director, emphasized the importance of enforcing legal standards for LPG dispensing equipment throughout Taiz. He noted that these measures are designed to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the services provided.
Al-Bukhaiti highlighted the necessity for stations to adhere to technical requirements, specifically safety and security standards. He stressed the importance of having all necessary equipment and protective measures in place due to the crucial role gas stations play in public safety.
He reiterated the Authority's dedication to upholding legal standards for weighing and measuring instruments, warning that any violations involving fraud or manipulation would be addressed firmly through all applicable legal measures. This is part of the Authority's mandate to protect consumers.
Al-Bukhaiti urged station operators to cooperate with inspection teams. He clarified that the field visits to stations across the governorate's districts aim to verify compliance with safety requirements and legal metrology standards for measurement and calibration. This initiative helps to prevent fraud and protect consumers.
