Taiz: Over the past year, Taiz province has undergone a significant developmental transformation despite the ongoing aggression and blockade led by the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. This period of change has been facilitated by the concerted efforts of local leadership, government institutions, and service bodies.
According to Yemen News Agency, more than two billion Y.R has been invested into numerous development and service projects across key sectors, including health, education, water, agriculture, and infrastructure. These initiatives align with the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, aiming to achieve sustainable local development and improve the lives of citizens.
The leadership of Acting Governor Ahmed Amin al-Masawa has been pivotal in meeting the developmental needs and aspirations of the population. Despite the challenges of the ongoing siege and aggression, significant progress has been made, with many projects underway, particularly in New Taiz. Under the guidance of revolutionary leader Sayed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, Taiz has emerged as a hub of development.
Notable achievements include the construction of the Taiz General Hospital and the expansion of Taiz University, marking significant milestones in infrastructure consolidation and developmental prospects. These advancements reflect the resilience and commitment of the people of Taiz to overcome adversity and continue their path toward comprehensive development.
In the university education sector, the Taiz University project in Al-Hawban area has been realized, marking a strategic initiative that addresses the educational aspirations of the province. This project, costing about 407 million YER, is expected to make a qualitative leap in university education.
In the health sector, the near-completion of the Taiz General Hospital in al-Janad area represents a qualitative addition, providing essential medical services to citizens who previously had to travel to other provinces for treatment.
The water and sanitation sector has seen significant achievements, including the implementation of solar energy projects to operate wells and extend water and sanitation networks. These projects are crucial for infrastructure development and improving service delivery in the province.
The road sector has also seen a qualitative leap with the construction of new streets and rehabilitation of existing roads, opening new gateways for development and connectivity in the region.
In rural development, significant investments have been made in service projects, particularly in the districts of Sharab al Rawnah, Jabal Habshi, and al-Ta’ziyyah, promoting local development and alleviating the suffering of citizens in remote areas.
The agricultural sector has witnessed a qualitative leap with the implementation of numerous projects, including the distribution of solar energy systems to farmers and the rehabilitation of irrigation canals, contributing to food security and community welfare.
Acting Governor Ahmed al-Masawa confirmed that these projects translate the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, making a qualitative leap in various fields. He emphasized the province’s progress in improving services and implementing projects that alleviate citizens’ suffering and enhance sustainable development efforts in the face of aggression and siege.
