Sana'a: The Tender Committee in the Capital Secretariat, chaired by Mayor Dr. Hamoud Abbad, approved tenders for 21 projects spanning roads, education, and health sectors, with a combined investment of 1.4 billion rials, funded by the local authority.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by key figures including Secretary-General of the Local Council Amin Jamaan, administrative board members Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, Sharaf Al-Hadi, and Adel Al-Aqari, as well as Deputy Mayors Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Houthi and Yahya Jameel, Assistant Deputy Eng. Abdullah Rawiah, and Director of the Health and Environment Office Dr. Mutahhar Al-Marouni. The committee approved the execution of these service projects in alignment with the approved technical specifications.
The tenders include 13 projects targeting the road sector, focusing on the rehabilitation, restoration, and maintenance of several main and secondary streets across various districts. In the health sector, a project was approved for the procurement, supply, installation, and operation of clinical laboratory equipment and supplies for the Occupational Health and Safety Department at the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in the Secretariat.
Additionally, seven projects in the education sector were approved, including the rehabilitation and renovation of Al-Hassan bin Ali School in Maeen District, Al-Shaima School in Old Sana'a District, Martyr Abdullah Al-Wazir School in Shu'ub District, Rawdat Hayel Kindergarten in Maeen District, Baghdad School in Al-Wahda District, Neighborhood Unit 731 School in Bani Al-Harith District, and the creation of a training workshop for the Automotive Electricity Department at the Dhabhan Industrial Technical Institute in Al-Thawra District.
During the meeting, the Mayor stressed the importance of implementing the projects in accordance with the technical and engineering specifications and within the designated timeline, to enhance service and development performance for the benefit of citizens. He emphasized that these projects reflect the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, and the Supreme Political Council, aiming to improve service levels and achieve sustainable development.
The administrative board of the Secretariat, in a subsequent meeting chaired by the Mayor, reviewed agenda items and made necessary decisions and measures. The meeting, attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, heads of the Social Affairs, Planning and Finance, and Services Committees, along with several deputies and directors-general, also assessed the progress of local performance and the implementation of service and development projects as part of the local authority's plan for the current year.
The meeting underscored the need to enhance efforts in improving performance across service and development sectors and ensuring the successful implementation of activities and projects to foster sustainable local development.
