Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast predicting thunderstorms of varying intensity to affect several governorates in the coming hours, cautioning residents about deteriorating visibility over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlights the anticipation of heavy thunderstorms, occasionally accompanied by hail, in the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Al Dhale'e, northern Lahj, Raymah, and western Dhamar. Additionally, rain of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected in parts of Sana'a, Amran, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada, as well as in the plateaus and highlands of Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut.
Scattered rainfall is also likely to affect parts of the eastern and southern coasts, the southern west coast, and the Tihama plain. Over the past 24 hours, meteorological stations recorded rainfall reaching 19.6 mm in Ibb, 7.0 mm in Taiz, and 2.0 mm in Ataq. Scattered rains of varying intensity also fell on parts of the western highlands and the interior plateaus, though these occurrences were outside the stations' range.
The center has advised citizens and drivers to avoid flood channels and valleys during and after rainfall, and to be wary of lightning and reduced visibility due to low clouds, fog, and water mist, particularly on mountain roads and slopes.
