Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms, hot to extremely hot weather, and rough seas due to strong winds over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center has indicated that varying intensity thunderstorms are likely to occur in parts of the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, and Raymah.
Scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is expected in the governorates of Amran, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah, as well as the western parts of Saada and Sana'a. The southern region of Al-Bayda and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramawt, and Al-Mahrah are also likely to experience similar weather patterns.
The center has highlighted strong winds over the Socotra Archipelago, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab. Hot to extremely hot weather conditions are anticipated in deserts, inland plateaus, plains, and coastal areas.
The center has urged citizens in regions expected to receive rainfall to be cautious of flash floods in valleys and watercourses. It advised against being present in or crossing these areas during and after rainfall, and it emphasized the dangers posed by thunderstorms.
In areas experiencing hot and extremely hot weather, citizens are advised to increase fluid intake and avoid direct exposure to sunlight, especially during midday hours. The center also issued warnings to sea-goers, fishermen, and vessel captains about rough seas and high waves in the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
