Sanaa: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered, moderate-to-heavy thunderstorms across several governorates over the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, the Center's weather bulletin indicates that these thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by strong downdrafts and occasional hail, are expected in the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Al-Bayda, Shabwa, and Hadramout, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain and the West Coast.
Scattered thunderstorms might also occur in parts of Aden and Al-Mahra, and the western areas of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, and Dhamar. The Center has issued warnings about sudden flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising citizens to avoid these areas during and after rainfall. Additionally, drivers have been cautioned against crossing low-level bridges during flood conditions.
The Center also highlighted potential risks from thunderstorms and reduced horizontal visibility due to rain and fog formation on roads and mountain slopes. The public has been advised to adhere to safety precautions. Authorities have been urged to implement measures to safeguard lives and property in response to the forecasted weather conditions.
