Sana’a: The General Directorate of Traffic Police launched on Saturday the traffic plan for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. The launch featured a special display of traffic police personnel and a fully equipped fleet of modern patrol vehicles. The convoy departed from the General Directorate of Traffic Police building, headed to Al-Sabeen Square in the capital, and continued to the field service points designated in the plan, showcasing a high level of preparedness and field readiness to implement the Ramadan traffic plan efficiently and systematically.
According to Yemen News Agency, Major General Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, Director General of Traffic Police, emphasized that the Ramadan traffic plan is based on the directives of the Interior leadership’s Ministry as part of a comprehensive program aimed at organizing traffic flow, reducing congestion and accidents, enhancing public safety, and facilitating citizens’ mobility. He explained that the plan includes intensive field deployment of traffic officers at key streets and intersections, activation of both mobile and foot patrols, addressing high-risk ‘black spots,’ and monitoring traffic violations. The plan also focuses on enhancing technical and human readiness and strengthening coordination with relevant authorities.
Al-Barashi highlighted that the awareness aspect constitutes a core element of the Ramadan plan, through intensified guidance, educational, and cultural campaigns to promote adherence to traffic rules and regulations. He indicated that the practical implementation of the Ramadan plan would begin tomorrow, Sunday, in preparation for the holy month.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Najib Al-Asadi, Director of Traffic in the Capital Secretariat, stated that the traffic department had completed all field and technical arrangements to ensure the plan’s success, confirming the readiness of traffic personnel during the holy month to achieve smooth traffic flow and enhance public safety. Al-Asadi called on citizens and drivers to cooperate with traffic officers, follow traffic instructions, and act responsibly to protect lives and property, ensuring the successful implementation of the Ramadan traffic plan for the public good.
