Dhamar:A training course dedicated to establishing a system for university centers has successfully concluded at Dhamar University. This two-day event, organized by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, saw the participation of 45 individuals, including university leadership and staff from 11 different university centers.
According to Yemen News Agency, University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi underscored the significance of the topics covered during the course. He highlighted the focus on building an integrated institutional system to improve the effectiveness and performance of university centers. Dr. Al-Haifi expressed optimism that participants would apply the course outcomes to enhance the institutional operations, services, and programs of the centers.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Adel Al-Ansi. Prof. Dr. Essam Wasel, Assistant to the University President for Centers Affairs, emphasized the course's role in establishing operational governance and strengthening the centers' capabilities. He urged participants to move beyond theoretical knowledge to practical application, thereby reinforcing the centers' contribution to the university, community, and labor market needs.
Dr. Walid Dahyah, Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, detailed the course's recommendations. These included the formulation of strategic directions for the university centers that align with the university's overarching goals and vision. Additionally, it called for the development of clear, time-bound operational plans to implement, monitor, and evaluate these strategic directions effectively.
The recommendations also stressed the need for drafting internal regulations to govern each center's operations, considering their specific mandates and functions. Furthermore, developing classification criteria and guidelines was advised to organize the centers, define their competencies, and enhance operational efficiency.
