Training Workshop Equips Evaluators for Postgraduate Program Assessment in Yemen.

SANA’A: The Higher Supervisory Committee for the Evaluation of Postgraduate Programs in Private Higher Education Institutions, in coordination with the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, organized a training workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of 83 experts and academics from various universities. The workshop, held on Monday, was designed to provide participants with the scientific and practical skills necessary to conduct evaluations of postgraduate programs in private universities, analyze evaluation criteria, and prepare reports in accordance with the standards set by the committee.

According to Yemen News Agency, First Deputy Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah highlighted Yemen’s strategic transformation at various levels, underscoring the role of scientists, thinkers, and university professors in this process. He emphasized Yemen’s history of overcoming foreign dominance and the significant historical and cultural status of the country. Muftah called for the establishment of a
future for postgraduate studies based on scientific foundations to aid in Yemen’s development.

Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi described the workshop as a pivotal step towards improving postgraduate programs in Yemeni universities. Dr. Al-Dais outlined the committee’s framework for the evaluation process, from setting criteria and selecting committees to field visits and final report preparation.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Chairman of the Higher Supervisory Committee, detailed the committee’s adherence to scientific academic standards and its alignment with higher education laws and regulations. Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub and Dr. Noman Firouz provided insights into the evaluation methodology and working documents, respectively.

The workshop featured participation from key figures such as Dr. Fouad Abdulrazak, Dr. Mohammed Daifallah, and Dr. Yahya Abu Hatem. Participants were divided into working groups to focus on analyzing criteria, conducting field visits, and drafting reports in fi
elds including medicine, engineering, business, and humanities.
