Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Yahya Al-Siyani, inaugurated the Fifth Construction and Building Exhibition, organized in coordination with the Ministries of Economy, Industry and Investment, and Transport and Public Works.
According to Yemen News Agency, the five-day exhibition features 31 national government and private companies and factories that produce various construction materials. The event aims to showcase local products in the building and construction sector, strengthening their presence in the market as an alternative to imported products.
Following the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Al-Siyani, along with Hadhramaut Governor Luqman Baras and sectoral officials including Sami Maqbuli, Undersecretary for Industry and Economic Cities at the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment; Engineer Ali Rajih, Undersecretary for Works at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works; and Engineer Qasim Atef, Undersecretary for Housing at the Ministry of Local Administration and Development, toured the exhibition. They viewed the products presented by the 31 participating national government and private companies, which included items such as cement and other construction materials.
Al-Siyani emphasized the importance of such exhibitions in promoting local products, highlighting their quality, and fostering competition among producing companies. He underscored the significance of the construction sector as a major economic driver, supporting numerous other sectors and providing extensive employment opportunities.
The Deputy Minister also noted that the current diversification in national industries represents a qualitative leap in localizing industries. He mentioned that this aligns with the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership, reflecting the achievements of the September 21 Revolution.
