Tribal Efforts Resolve 20-Year-Old Murder Case Between Ans, Qifa Tribes.

Dhamar: A long-standing tribal dispute between Ans tribe of Dhamar province and Qifa tribe of Bayda province has been resolved after nearly 20 years, thanks to mediation efforts led by Sheikh Mohammed al-Maqdashi, advisor to the Supreme Political Council. During a meeting held in al-Qarshiyah district, al-Maqdashi, on behalf of the family of the victim, Khaled Mohammed al-Aqmari, announced that the blood relatives had pardoned the perpetrator, Saleh Ahmed al-Zoba, from Qifa tribe. The decision was made in the spirit of reconciliation and in line with the directives of the leader of the revolution to end cycles of vengeance.

According to Yemen News Agency, al-Maqdashi emphasized the importance of such efforts in healing old wounds, fostering unity, and reinforcing social solidarity, urging all tribes to resolve blood feuds in order to focus on national challenges and external threats. He praised the blood relatives of the victim for their magnanimity in forgiving the perpetrator, calling it a significant step
toward social peace.

In addition, al-Maqdashi acknowledged the role of Shura Council member Hussein al-Maqdashi, who played a key role in facilitating the resolution of the case. Bayda undersecretary Saleh al-Jawfi also expressed appreciation for the positions taken by the family of the victim and the tribes involved. He called on the people of Bayda to follow the example set by the Ans tribe in resolving such disputes and reinforcing tribal unity to confront the challenges posed by external aggression.
