Tribal Reconciliation Ends Seven-Year Murder Dispute in Amran

Amran: Tribal mediation efforts in Amran governorate successfully ended a seven-year-old murder case between the families of al Houmi and al Mashal in the districts of Ayyal Seraih and Jabal Ayyal Yazid. During a reconciliation meeting attended by members of parliament and the Shura Council, along with tribal leaders and local and community figures, the relatives of the victim Ali Hammoud Houmi announced their pardon for the accused from al Mashal tribe in Hamdah area, in a gesture described as being for the sake of Allah and in response to calls for social reconciliation.

According to Yemen News Agency, participants welcomed the settlement, praising the efforts of tribal mediators and the reconciliation committee in Ridah district, which contributed to ending the dispute and strengthening social unity. They commended the position of both tribes in prioritizing forgiveness and public interest over tribal retaliation, noting that the reconciliation reflects the cohesion of the social fabric and the community's ability to resolve disputes through customary and traditional mechanisms.

Speakers emphasized the importance of promoting values of tolerance, ending cycles of revenge, and supporting security, stability, and social peace in the region.
