Al-bayda: Two training courses focusing on beekeeping, honey production, and marketing commenced on Sunday in the Radman and Al-Wahbiya districts of Al-Bayda Governorate. The initiative aims to enhance the skills of 140 trainees in these sectors.
According to Yemen News Agency, the courses are organized by the General Directorate of Animal Wealth and the Technical Committee at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources. Supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross, and coordinated with the Yemen Red Crescent Society and the governorate's agricultural sector, the six-day courses are designed to impart scientific methods for beekeeping and bee care.
During the opening session, Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari, an official from the governorate's Agriculture Sector, highlighted that these courses form a part of an economic empowerment program. This program seeks to develop local resources and achieve self-sufficiency by enhancing the skills of beekeepers, thereby improving both the productivity and quality of Yemeni honey.
The directors of Radman and Al-Wahbiya, Maher Al-Awadhi and Sadiq Al-Wahbi, urged participants to take full advantage of the courses to advance beekeeping and honey production methods. They also expressed their commitment to supporting training programs and economic empowerment projects that align with community goals.
The inauguration was also attended by key officials, including Hadi Al-Wahbi, Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Wahbiya, and agricultural sector officials from Radman and Al-Wahbiya, Ali Al-Laqasi and Ahmed Al-Wahbi, along with heads of local associations.
