London: Britain announced its participation with US forces in executing air strikes on a Houthi military target in Yemen, specifically targeting a drone production facility located approximately 25 kilometers south of Sanaa. The UK Ministry of Defence confirmed the operation in a statement on Wednesday. According to EMM, the joint military operation was carried out on Tuesday, targeting a Houthi military site involved in the production of drones used in attacks against shipping. US President Donald Trump had previously ordered an escalation of US military actions in Yemen, stating the aim to continue targeting Iran-backed Houthi rebels to halt their attacks on Red Sea shipping routes. The UK Ministry of Defence reported that the air strike took place after dark to minimize the potential for civilian casualties, and confirmed that all British aircraft involved returned safely.
