Sana'a: The University of Science and Technology on Monday hosted a commemorative event in the capital Sana'a marking the martyrdom of Imam Zaid (peace be upon him), held under the slogan "Insight and Jihad."

According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, eminent scholar Fouad Naji, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, emphasized the significance of the commemoration as an occasion to draw inspiration from the values of revolution, freedom, steadfastness, and sacrifice in confronting tyrants and oppressors. He highlighted the importance of emulating Imam Zaid in upholding truth, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and standing against contemporary tyrants, specifically naming America and Israel.

Scholar Naji reviewed the principles that motivated Imam Zaid's revolution, which aimed to correct misconceptions, raise awareness, and break the stagnation and submission to the nation's enemies. Professor of Educational Planning at Sana'a University Dr. Ali Sharaf al-Din also affirmed the importance of commemorating Imam Zaid's martyrdom to draw lessons in confronting injustice and tyranny.

He stressed the need to follow the revolutionary Imam's path, strive in the way of Allah, and feel responsibility towards religion and the nation. Dr. Sharaf al-Din further highlighted the stances of Arab and Muslim rulers and evil scholars regarding the injustice and genocidal crimes against children, women, the elderly, and youth in Gaza, which he described as a disgrace to humanity, noting the exception of the Yemeni stance.
