Sana'a: On this day, May 31, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression targeted civilians, their property, historic castles, sports facilities, and hotels, resulting in dozens of casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
According to Yemen News Agency, on May 31, 2015, seven citizens, including the director of the Child Protection Center, were killed due to Saudi shelling in Hajjah Governorate. In Saada Governorate, airstrikes on the Khafji Market and civilian homes in Sahar District resulted in six deaths and ten injuries. Sheikh Abdullah Mohammed bin Shaja' and five companions were killed in Wadi Al Abu Jabara.
The aggression continued with airstrikes in the Al-Hasama area, targeting Sa'dah Radio, and launching attacks in Haydan District. In Marib Governorate, two citizens were killed in an airstrike on their home. Historic sites were not spared, as the Cairo Castle in Taiz faced destruction along with several other locations in the governorate.
In the capital, Sana'a, significant damage was caused to the International Olympic Swimming Pool Project and the National Teams Hotel due to airstrikes. Further attacks targeted the Central Security Forces camp and Lawdar Pass in Abyan Governorate.
The following year, on May 31, 2016, injuries occurred from shelling in al-Ghail District, with additional airstrikes in al-Saqiyah and al-Maslub Districts. Sirwah District in Marib and al-Omari schools in Taiz also came under fire.
On May 31, 2017, the coalition's air force continued its aggression with raids in Saada and Taiz governorates, targeting civilian homes and strategic hills. The airstrikes persisted into 2018, with attacks on September 21 Park in Sana'a and multiple locations in Saada Governorate.
The aggression extended into 2019, with coalition mercenaries shelling areas in Hodeida and launching airstrikes in Jawf Governorate. The violence escalated in 2020, resulting in civilian casualties in Hodeida and numerous airstrikes across various governorates.
On May 31, 2021, the aggression led to further loss of life and injury in Saada Governorate, with airstrikes and shelling impacting multiple regions, including Marib and Al Hudaydah. The following year saw continued hostilities, with combat fortifications and artillery shelling in Marib and other governorates.
By May 31, 2023, the aggression's mercenaries established fortifications in Hodeida, continuing artillery shelling across the governorate, perpetuating the cycle of violence and destruction.
