Sana'a: On this day, February 20, a series of violent attacks by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition and its mercenaries resulted in the loss of civilian lives and significant damage to both public and private properties across several governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, on February 20, 2016, airstrikes launched by coalition aircraft on a water tank in the Al-Kadara area of Al-Mawaset District in Taiz Governorate killed two citizens and injured others. The attack also caused significant damage to the tank. The coalition aircraft further targeted Jabal Al-Warqa in Al-Aqroud, Al-Masrakh District, with multiple airstrikes.
The coalition's aircraft conducted airstrikes on Al-Hawimi in Karsh District and Al-Shuraija in Lahj Governorate, dropping cluster bombs that caused damage to homes and public property. Additionally, an attack on a gathering of mercenaries in Karsh resulted in multiple casualties.
In Shabwah Governorate and Sirwah District in Marib Governorate, the coalition launched 30 airstrikes on Al-Hamajerah village, Jabal Hailan, Souq Sirwah, and the main road linking Sana'a and Marib, causing extensive destruction to homes, farms, and infrastructure. Other targets included Al-Ghail District in Al-Jawf Governorate and Jabal Al-Ala in Saada Governorate.
The aggression continued with airstrikes on Al-Nahdain and Al-Sabeen areas and the Attan area in the Capital Secretariat. Sana'a International Airport and surrounding areas such as Wadi Ahmed and Daris in Bani Al-Harith District suffered severe damage to homes, shops, and both public and private properties.
In Amran city, Jabal Al-Marha was targeted with multiple airstrikes. The coalition also launched airstrikes on Al-Arqoub, Al-Adi, and Al-Sabaha areas in Sana'a Governorate, leading to further destruction of properties.
On February 20, 2017, coalition aircraft targeted homes in Wadi Habab, Sirwah District, Marib Governorate, leading to the destruction of Ali Mohammed Al-Husseini's house and damage to neighboring structures. Airstrikes in Nihm District damaged agricultural lands and citizens' properties.
In Taiz Governorate, the coalition targeted Al-Omari schools and infrastructure on the main road linking Jabal Al-Nar and Mocha junction. Apache aircraft bombed the Midi desert with numerous missiles, further exacerbating the destruction.
The aggression's aircraft also attacked Jabal Tuwailiq in Jizan and several areas in Saada Governorate, causing severe damage and civilian casualties due to missile and artillery shelling with cluster bombs.
On February 20, 2018, coalition airstrikes hit the Military Police building in Al-Hodieda Governorate and other areas, resulting in more casualties and destruction. Attacks on Khab, Al-Shaaf District, and other regions continued the pattern of devastation.
By February 20, 2019, further airstrikes and artillery shelling led to more civilian deaths, injuries, and property damage in various governorates, including significant attacks on residential areas and farms.
The aggression persisted on February 20, 2020, with airstrikes and shelling targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, leading to more casualties.
The violence continued on February 20, 2021, as aggression aircraft launched airstrikes across multiple governorates, causing additional damage to properties and civilian lives.
On February 20, 2022, artillery shelling by the Saudi army in Saada Governorate resulted in injuries to civilians, while coalition airstrikes caused extensive damage in Haradh District and other regions.
By February 20, 2023, Saudi artillery shelling in Shada border District led to more civilian casualties, continuing the cycle of violence and destruction.
