Sana'a: On this day, April 5, the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition has been responsible for the deaths and injuries of numerous civilians over several years due to airstrikes and bombings across various Yemeni governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, on April 5, 2015, an airstrike in the Hays district of Hodeida governorate resulted in the death of three civilians and injuries to nine others. The attack targeted food trucks carrying 160 tons of food, leading to their destruction. In another instance, three children were injured when airstrikes targeted Bahman Shihab village in the Bani Matar district of Sana'a governorate.
Continuing the aggression, on April 5, 2016, airstrikes were launched on several areas in Sana'a and Taiz governorates, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including homes, airports, and private properties. The attacks extended to Taiz International Airport, leading to extensive facility damage.
In 2017, the airstrikes resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to four others at a salt factory in Bajil District, Hodeida Governorate. Additionally, four fishermen lost their lives in Apache helicopter raids on the Taif coast. The coalition used cluster bombs in multiple attacks, causing further civilian harm and property damage.
On April 5, 2018, airstrikes targeted various districts in Sana'a, Hodeida, and Baydha governorates, leading to the destruction of civilian properties and public infrastructure. The strikes included attacks on Rayyan Hills and Sana'a International Airport, causing widespread damage.
The following year, in 2019, explosive remnants left by the coalition caused injuries to children in Hodeida Governorate. Mercenaries also engaged in acts of violence, including kidnapping and artillery shelling, escalating the humanitarian crisis.
The aggression continued into 2020, with airstrikes and shelling reported across several districts, resulting in civilian casualties and extensive property damage. Missile and artillery attacks targeted populated areas, exacerbating the plight of Yemeni civilians.
In 2021, airstrikes and shelling led to further civilian injuries and fatalities, with reports of reconnaissance aircraft dropping bombs on residential areas, causing additional suffering and destruction.
By April 5, 2022, and 2023, the coalition's actions persisted, with combat fortifications and artillery shelling in Hodeida governorate, highlighting the ongoing conflict and its impact on Yemeni civilians.
