US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Causes Devastation Across Multiple Yemeni Governorates

Sana'a: On this day, February 17, the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition launched a series of air and ground attacks on multiple Yemeni governorates, resulting in numerous casualties, the destruction of homes and infrastructure, and significant disruptions to daily life. According to Yemen News Agency, on February 17, 2016, airstrikes by the coalition's aircraft resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens and injuries to seven others in Wadi Al-Milh, Nehm District, Sana'a Governorate. Additionally, three citizens were killed, and homes were damaged in Bani Hajil, while further destruction occurred in the Al-Madfun and Al-Sawad areas due to airstrikes. In Saada Governorate, airstrikes resulted in two deaths and several injuries, along with the destruction of vehicles and homes in Monabbih and Ghamr Districts. Efforts to target the Al-Maqna' area further exacerbated the damage to local properties. Taiz Governorate also suffered as an airstrike in Al-Jadid led to one death, and several airstrikes across Haifan District cau sed injuries and infrastructural damage. The aggression extended to Al-Jawf Governorate, where airstrikes in Malfaj and Al-Ghail Districts resulted in fatalities and property damage. In Marib Governorate, significant airstrikes destroyed homes and targeted civilian areas, leading to widespread destruction. February 17, 2017, saw further attacks, including the destruction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Naji Al-Ghader's home in Khawlan District and multiple airstrikes across Najran, Taiz, Hajjah, and Hodeida Governorates. The following years continued the pattern of aggression. On February 17, 2018, airstrikes in Saada Governorate resulted in the deaths of 18 citizens, including women and children, and caused extensive property damage. Airstrikes in Hajjah Governorate destroyed infrastructure, and similar destruction was reported in Al-Jawf and Sana'a. February 17, 2019, saw the destruction of Sheikh Saleh Hadi Sabr's home in Nehm District, and casualties continued to rise across various governorates due to airstrik es and artillery shelling. The toll increased dramatically on February 17, 2020, with 35 martyrs in Al-Jawf Governorate, including 26 children, due to airstrikes and shelling. Subsequent years saw continued attacks with airstrikes and shelling, causing injuries and destruction across Hodeida, Saada, Marib, and Hajjah Governorates. Despite the passage of time, the pattern of aggression on February 17 each year underscores the ongoing conflict's impact on Yemeni citizens, resulting in both immediate and long-term consequences for individuals and communities across the nation.
