Sanaa: On this day, June 19, a series of incidents highlight the ongoing US-Saudi-Emirati aggression in Yemen, which has resulted in the loss of numerous lives, including those of women and children, and caused significant destruction across various regions of the country.
According to Yemen News Agency, the aggression has seen repeated airstrikes and artillery shelling on populated areas. On June 19, 2015, a devastating attack in the Ghamar area of Razih district, Saada governorate, resulted in the death of 12 citizens from one family, primarily women and children, while dozens more were injured. In the same district, airstrikes on Bani Mu'een claimed further lives and left many injured. Other regions, including Wadi Amlah in Kitaf district and several areas in Al-Dhahir district, also suffered from heavy bombardment.
The following years continued to witness similar hostilities. On June 19, 2016, aggression aircraft targeted areas in Sana'a and Marib governorates, leading to injuries and further destruction. The shelling in Shabwah and Taiz governorates added to the toll of human suffering, destroying homes and displacing residents.
In 2017, airstrikes focused on the Bab Al-Falaq area near Dhamar city, injuring citizens. Saada, Hajjah, and Al-Hodeida governorates faced multiple raids, leading to significant property damage, including the destruction of Sirwah Market Mosque in Marib.
By 2018, the aggression had escalated further. An air raid on a passenger bus in Al-Hodeida city resulted in six deaths, including four women. The aggression aircraft launched extensive raids on Al-Hodeida International Airport and several other locations, causing widespread devastation.
The pattern of aggression persisted in 2019 with attacks across multiple governorates. Shelling in Salah district, Taiz, resulted in the deaths of two women, while various other districts experienced artillery and rocket fire, damaging homes and endangering lives.
In 2020, the violence showed no sign of abating. Saudi missile and artillery shelling in Shada district, Saada, injured children and the elderly. Aggression aircraft continued to target regions in Amran, Hajjah, Al-Bayda, Al-Jawf, and Marib governorates with numerous raids, causing further casualties and destruction.
The cycle of violence continued into 2021 and 2022, with air and artillery attacks on populated areas in Saada, Marib, Hajjah, and Al-Hodeida governorates. These relentless assaults led to further loss of life and significant infrastructural damage.
Most recently, on June 19, 2023, spy aircraft launched raids on Taiz and Al-Hodeida governorates. Mercenaries established combat positions and shelled various areas, continuing the pattern of aggression and devastation that has plagued Yemen for years.
