Sana’a: On this day, February 20, in various years, a series of air raids launched by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression resulted in numerous civilian casualties and extensive damage to infrastructure across several Yemeni governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, on February 20, 2016, airstrikes in the al-Kadra area of Taiz governorate killed two citizens and injured others, causing significant damage to a crucial water tank. Additional raids in the region targeted areas in Lahj and Sana’a, leading to further destruction of homes and public property. These attacks also targeted mercenaries in Karsh, resulting in deaths and injuries.
The aggression continued with airstrikes in Amran, Marib, and Sa’dah governorates, causing severe damage to homes, farms, and infrastructure. The following year, on February 20, 2017, raids in Marib destroyed homes, while strikes in Sana’a damaged agricultural lands and citizen properties. Additional air raids occurred in Taiz, Sa’ada, and other governorates, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
In 2018, airstrikes targeted the military police building in Hodeida, along with several areas in Taiz and Sa’ada, causing deaths and injuries among mercenaries and civilians alike. The subsequent year saw a tragic incident in Hajjah governorate, where a woman and three children were killed, and others were injured in air raids on residential areas.
The violence intensified in 2020, with mercenaries shelling residential neighborhoods and farms in Hodeida, resulting in casualties and significant property damage. Airstrikes also targeted various districts in Sana’a, Marib, Jawf, and Hajjah governorates, causing further civilian harm.
On February 20, 2021, air raids continued in Marib, Jawf, and Sa’ada, while mercenaries launched artillery attacks in Hodeida, inflicting further damage. The following year, artillery shelling by the Saudi army injured multiple citizens in Sa’ada, and airstrikes targeted Haradh, Marib, and Baydha governorates.
Most recently, on February 20, 2023, another artillery attack by the Saudi army resulted in the martyrdom of a citizen in Sa’ada governorate, highlighting the ongoing violence impacting Yemeni civilians and infrastructure.
