Sanaa: On this day, August 12, US-Saudi-Emirati aggression aircraft committed significant acts of violence against the Yemeni people by targeting homes, roads, and bridges in several governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the aggression began on August 12, 2015, when airstrikes in Razih District of Saada Governorate led to the martyrdom of a citizen and injuries to six others. The aggression also targeted shepherds in Bani Sayyah area, injuring a child and killing sheep. Additionally, multiple airstrikes in Saada Governorate caused extensive destruction to citizens' farms and buildings.
The timeline of aggression continued with the events of August 12, 2016, when airstrikes on Al-Matoun District in Al-Jawf Governorate resulted in the deaths of nine citizens, including a woman, and injuries to 14 others. In Saada's Baqim District, an airstrike claimed the lives of five family members, including three children. Further airstrikes in Sana'a Governorate and other regions caused severe damage to infrastructures and homes.
The aggression persisted over the years, with August 12, 2017, witnessing airstrikes on various districts, including Kitaf and Al-Dhahir in Saada, causing further destruction. On August 12, 2018, similar attacks were carried out, alongside intense shelling targeting populated villages in border districts, damaging citizens' properties.
In 2019, airstrikes and artillery shelling continued to wreak havoc, with incidents in Hodeida Governorate injuring civilians and destroying homes. On August 12, 2020, further airstrikes targeted Kitaf District in Saada and other areas, resulting in injuries and damage to property.
The aggression on August 12, 2021, saw airstrikes and reconnaissance efforts targeting districts in Saada and Ma'rib, while mercenaries established combat fortifications in Hodeida Governorate. The cycle of violence continued into 2022, with airstrikes and shelling affecting governorates such as Ma'rib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, and Hodeida.
Most recently, on August 12, 2023, the aggression's mercenaries established combat fortifications and carried out artillery shelling in various districts, particularly in Hodeida and Taiz Governorates, demonstrating a persistent pattern of violence and destruction over the years.
