Sana’a: On this day, February 16, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression launched a series of raids on a number of Yemeni governorates, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians and the destruction of their private property and infrastructure.
According to Yemen News Agency, on February 16, 2016, four citizens were martyred, three others were injured, and the home of citizen Nabil Shakwan was destroyed in raids by the aggression’s air force on the Shakwan area in the Nihm district in Sana’a governorate. Additional attacks in the region left three citizens injured and caused significant damage to agricultural lands and homes. The air force also destroyed a tourist rest house in the Bani Al-Sayag area and attacked Qaa Al-Takhraf in the Sanhan district.
In the Jawf governorate, a citizen and his wife were martyred in an air raid that targeted their home in the Malfaj area. In Sa’ada governorate, three citizens were killed in an attack on a car on the main road, and various areas experienced significant destruction of property due to multiple raids. Communication networks and other infrastructures were also targeted.
The aggression’s aircraft targeted numerous locations in Taiz governorate, resulting in injuries to civilians and damage to homes, farms, and public facilities. In Hodeida city and other areas, the air force targeted industrial sites, causing severe damage. Further raids on February 16, 2017, continued to target and destroy property across various governorates, affecting residential and commercial areas alike.
The raids on February 16, 2018, resulted in civilian casualties, including the death of six citizens in Taiz governorate. The ongoing aggression led to significant damage and the use of cluster bombs, affecting both people and property in subsequent years.
On February 16, 2019, a child was killed, and women and children were injured in attacks in Hajjah governorate. The aggression’s air force launched numerous raids across other governorates, causing further destruction and civilian harm. On February 16, 2020, artillery shelling injured citizens in Hodeida, and widespread attacks continued, impacting civilian infrastructure and livelihoods.
The aggression persisted on February 16, 2021, resulting in the martyrdom of a citizen by Saudi border guard fire and multiple airstrikes across regions, causing significant property damage. In 2022, attacks targeted workers and civilians, resulting in casualties and further property damage across various districts in Yemen.
