Sana'a: On this day, March 26, historical accounts reveal a series of airstrikes by US-Saudi-Emirati forces that resulted in the deaths and injuries of numerous civilians. The attacks spanned several years, leading to significant destruction of both private and public property across various governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, on March 26, 2015, the airstrikes resulted in the death of 29 citizens and injured 43 others, predominantly women and children, in a residential neighborhood in the Bani Hawat area in Sana'a. The same day, Sana'a International Airport and Al-Dailami Air Base were targeted, along with other areas in the capital and governorate.
In 2016, airstrikes in Al Bayda and Al Jawf governorates resulted in three civilian casualties. Additional raids in Nehm, Arhab, and Sanhan districts led to further damage to homes and properties, while cluster bombs were deployed in Marib's Sirwah district.
The following year, in 2017, Bedouins in Nehm district were injured after their tents were targeted. Multiple raids in Bilad Al-Rus and Bani Al-Harith districts caused property damage. Other attacks occurred in Taiz, Saada, and Asir, with the Saudi army also engaging in gunfire in Munabbih district.
On March 26, 2018, extensive raids on Saada city and surrounding districts, as well as in Hajjah and Al Hodeida, led to significant destruction of homes and properties. Attacks on health facilities and infrastructure in Al Hodeida added to civilian hardships.
In 2019, targeting of a hospital gate in Saada led to over 15 civilian casualties. The subsequent year continued with airstrikes causing property damage in Saada and Hajjah.
In 2021, airstrikes on Marib's Madghal and Sirwah districts were recorded, and in 2022, ten civilians died in raids on residences in Al-Sabeen district. The attacks also targeted vital facilities in Al Hodeida and other governorates, causing further civilian harm.
Finally, in 2023, mercenaries established military positions in Al Hodeida's Hays district, employing artillery and firearms against several areas, marking another year of conflict and civilian distress.
