US Veto Foils Halt to Genocide in Gaza: Report

Sana'a: It was not surprising that the United States rejected the draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza during the last session of the UN Security Council.

According to Yemen News Agency, this action has once again highlighted how the United States uses the Security Council as a platform to push agendas that align with its colonial policies, effectively turning the Council and the United Nations into tools controlled by its interests.

Since the end of World War II, American influence has been felt globally through its imposition of colonial policies via military force, leading to the occupation of countries rich in resources like oil and gas. The impacts of these policies are evident in the lasting devastation seen in nations such as Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Vietnam, and various Latin American countries. Throughout its history, America has relied on what is described as terrorism to further its aims.

Historically, America has not been known as a nation seeking peace in global conflicts. This pattern is visible in many nations across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The approach of American officials has been criticized as outdated, operating under a Cold War mentality that embraces state terrorism as a cornerstone of its international policy.

There is a growing call for the international community to recognize the United States as a terrorist organization due to the numerous crimes it has committed, which are seen as acts of aggression and genocide against humanity. The recent American veto against a ceasefire in Gaza is viewed as a disgraceful stance that contradicts international calls for ending the hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

In conclusion, the American veto is perceived as supporting the ongoing genocide against Palestinians, a position that aligns with what are described as Zionist efforts against defenseless civilians in Gaza.
