Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center stated in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected over parts of the governorates of Dhamar, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, Raymah, Ibb, Sana'a, and Amran. Additionally, light to moderate rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is likely over parts of the governorates of Lahj, Taiz, Al Dhale'e, Al Bayda, Sa'ada, and eastern Al Hodeida.
The center explained that the amount of rainfall over the past 24 hours, measured at several meteorological stations, was as follows: Hajjah recorded 73.2 mm, Al Mahwit 35.9 mm, Ibb 9.2 mm, Dhamar 6.5 mm, Sana'a 3.5 mm, and Taiz 1.5 mm. Thunderstorms also fell on parts of the western highlands and interior plateaus, but these were outside the stations' range.
The center warned citizens to avoid valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall and to take precautions against thunderstorms.
