Dhamar: The agriculture sector in Dhamar province launched the national emergency campaign to treat livestock against foot-and-mouth disease in several agriculture directorates with funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. During the launch in Jabal Jabal al-Sharq, the director of the Health and Epidemiological Surveillance Department in the province’s agriculture sector, Dr. Al-Muqaddam, and the head of the central supervision team, Dr. Mohammed al-Dhourani, highlighted that this veterinary campaign is part of the emergency response by the Ministry of Agriculture and its office in the province in response to the appeals of livestock farmers to protect their livestock from death.
According to Yemen News Agency, Eng. Naji Al-Joufi, Director of the Directorate’s Agriculture Sector Branch, emphasized the importance of activating the awareness and guidance role on healthy methods and practices in raising and caring for livestock, preventing them from diseases, and taking the necessary preventive measures. Livestock breeders appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries in confronting the disease and preserving livestock as one of the pillars of the national economy.
