Hajjah: Aslam Rural Hospital in Hajjah province, along with health offices and centers in Aslam, Mughraba, and Wadra, organized a protest on Sunday against the US targeting of a health center in Weshha district.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants of the protest viewed the targeting of health facilities as a violation of international humanitarian law and the rules that protect medical facilities and personnel during conflicts. They strongly condemned the US aggression on Haqqa Health Center and emphasized their commitment to continue providing health services amidst these challenges.
A statement from the vigils highlighted that attacking health centers, which offer humanitarian services to civilians, is a violation of international laws, norms, and conventions, and constitutes a war crime. The statement urged the international community, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to intervene, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure the protection of health facilities and civilians.
The statement also underscored the importance of respecting the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the targeting of medical facilities and workers. It emphasized that such acts will not deter the ongoing humanitarian mission to save lives and provide care to those in need, despite the prevailing challenges and risks.
