Wasab Al-Safil Association Distributes 1,300 Coffee Seedlings to Farmers

Dhamar: Wasab Al-Safil Agricultural Cooperative Association launched on Thursday the distribution of 1,300 coffee tree seedlings to farmers in Wasab Al-Safil District, Dhamar Governorate. During the launch, District Director Fuad Al-Qadimi emphasized that the initiative is part of efforts to boost agricultural production and reduce import costs, contributing to achieving self-sufficiency.

According to Yemen News Agency, Wasab has long been known for coffee cultivation, thanks to its geographic features and suitable climate. Al-Qadimi highlighted the importance of land reclamation and expanding coffee planting as an economically valuable crop with global significance.

Association President Muhammad Al-Alawi stated that distributing the seedlings represents a first step toward expanding coffee cultivation across the district's villages. He mentioned that the association aims to establish a nursery to produce seedlings suited to the region's conditions.

Al-Alawi encouraged farmers to take advantage of the initiative and register to determine their seedling needs, as part of efforts to develop agricultural production.
