Washington: The US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announced that the possibility of delisting Chinese stocks from US exchanges has not been ruled out, indicating that "all options are on the table." According to Yemen News Agency, in an interview with "Fox Business" on Wednesday, Besant responded to a question regarding the administration of US President Donald Trump's readiness to delist Chinese stocks from US exchanges amid escalating mutual tariffs between the two countries. Besant stated, "I think everything is under discussion." Trump had earlier announced that additional tariffs on Chinese goods of 104% would take effect from Wednesday. Besant expressed disappointment over China's decision to impose countervailing duties, describing it as a "losing proposition" for Beijing. He suggested that progress could be made if the US shifts its economic priorities toward production, while China focuses on consumption. Besant elaborated, "The U.S. is trying to adjust the economic balance toward more production . China has to adjust the balance toward more consumption. If at some point we can get there, we can move forward in the same direction," while also cautioning Beijing against attempts to devalue its currency.
