They reviewed the outcomes of t he first phase, which successfully elevated the flour extraction rate to 80 percent.
The second phase, scheduled for October 1st, aims to further increase this rate to 86 percent. The Acting Minister praised the collaborative efforts of milling companies during the initial phase and expressed confidence in the continued support as the new phase is implemented. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance consumption patterns, improve the nutritional quality of bread, and ensure consumer health and safety.
Further, the Ministry plans to conduct field inspections with its offices across the Capital Secretariat and governorates, in collaboration with the Yemen Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization. These inspections aim to ensure adherence to the new extraction rate, identify any violations, and enforce legal actions against non-compliant entities.
