Al-durayhimi: The Women's Authority in the al-Durayhimi district of Hodeida governorate organized a commemorative event in al-Jahba al-Ulya to mark the anniversary of the Tanuma and Sadwan massacre, a tragic event perpetrated by the Saudi regime against Yemeni pilgrims over a century ago.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event featured speeches that highlighted the brutality of the massacre, which claimed the lives of more than three thousand Yemeni pilgrims. Speakers at the event emphasized that the massacre stands as a testament to the historical animosity of the Saudi regime towards the Yemeni people and its long-standing project targeting Yemeni identity and holy sites.
The commemoration was viewed as an opportunity to raise cultural and political awareness regarding the conspiracies against Yemen. It was noted that recent acts of aggression are seen as a continuation of the same mentality that led to the massacre in Tanuma and Sadwan.
A statement issued during the event affirmed the resilience of Yemeni women in the face of challenges and their commitment to instilling the values of sacrifice in future generations. The attendees expressed a determination to confront any attempts to erase or falsify Yemen's history, which they view as a history of dignity and pride.
The event was attended by a large gathering of women and girls from the region and featured awareness-raising segments and poetry that collectively expressed support for the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people.
