Mahweet: Emergency efforts are underway in Mahweet governorate to reopen and repair a number of roads damaged by heavy rains and floods in recent days. Specialized teams from the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges are working around the clock to restore traffic flow and ensure public safety.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Director of the corporation's branch in Mahweet, Engineer Ahmed al-Yana'i, stated that field teams had succeeded in reopening the Mahweet-Bani Saad road after landslides and soil erosion had completely blocked the route. Intensive work continues on the Mahweet-al-Qanawis road, where rockslides and landslides have severely disrupted the movement of vehicles.
Al-Yana'i explained that the current phase of work is focused on removing debris, clearing rock accumulations, and securing passage for traffic, while longer-term technical solutions are being prepared to stabilize vulnerable sections of the road network. He emphasized that the corporation's teams will continue their efforts until all necessary measures are completed to ensure road safety.
He also urged citizens and drivers to exercise extreme caution when using these roads, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall, noting that the emergency operations are supported and financed by the Road Maintenance Fund.
