Sa'ada: The Security Administration of Sa'ada Governorate organized, in cooperation with the Health Office in the governorate, an awareness workshop today for personnel of the security checkpoints affiliated with the Rescue Forces branch on the dangers of smuggled narcotic drugs entering the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the workshop, the Director of the Health Office in the governorate, Dr. Yahya Sha'im, emphasized the importance of the workshop and its outcomes, which aim to protect the lives and safety of citizens by preventing the entry of smuggled, counterfeit, and expired drugs. He highlighted that the enemy employs various methods to harm and target citizens, attempting to undermine the resilience and steadfastness of the Yemeni people. Dr. Sha'im also noted that many crimes result from the misuse of drugs.
The Deputy Director of the Health Office in the governorate, Dr. Khaled Al-Farah, provided definitions related to harmful and narcotic drugs and discussed the dangers of their trafficking. He explained the difference between therapeutic drugs and drug misuse and provided clarifications on drug classification and the health, social, and security impacts of their misuse.
During the workshop, which was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Rescue Forces branch in the governorate, Colonel Fahd Al-Ghayli, the Commander of the Security Belt in the governorate, Major Akram Radman, checkpoint commanders, heads of branch departments, and several Health Office officials, the topics addressed inspection standards at security checkpoints and their role in controlling smuggled goods. The workshop also explored ways of cooperation and coordination between various entities to limit this phenomenon through which the enemy attempts to target society.
