Hajja: A workshop held in Hajja Governorate, organized by the local Agriculture Sector and the branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, emphasized the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening agricultural expansion projects and value chains to advance the agricultural sector.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop, held in collaboration with the Agricultural and Fisheries Project and Initiative Financing Unit, was attended by the deputy governors Ibrahim Amer and Abdelkarim Al-Khamousi, as well as the head of the agriculture sector Hassan Hazazi. The event addressed aspects related to coordinating efforts and reviewing progress on the agricultural expansion project.
Participants, including the Executive Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union Saleh Hadi, agricultural sector officials from various districts, and heads of agricultural associations, discussed the role of agricultural associations and agricultural offices in serving farmers and promoting development.
They stressed the importance of supporting agricultural associations with technical expertise, qualified personnel, seeds, agricultural guidance, and the essential needs of farmers, while regularly monitoring and evaluating agricultural expansion projects and value chains.
The workshop also emphasized the necessity of developing a joint work plan, distributing tasks, and coordinating among relevant parties to ensure the development of the agricultural sector in the governorate, achieve self-sufficiency, and strengthen the partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, its local office in the governorate, the Cooperative Union, and agricultural associations, thereby supporting agricultural production.
