Workshop on Active Learning Strategies Conducted at Sana’a University

Sana'a: The Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at Sana'a University organized a training workshop focused on active learning strategies for faculty members. The workshop aimed to enhance teaching capacities and equip educators with modern knowledge and skills in education.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop was supervised by the university's Center for Development and Quality Assurance and concentrated on learning theories, roles of lecturers and students in active-learning environments, and aligning teaching methods with course learning outcomes. Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hisham Al-Jubali, emphasized that this initiative is part of efforts to modernize the academic system and keep up with advancements in agricultural sciences.

Dr. Al-Jubali highlighted the necessity of transitioning to active learning to foster interactive education that enhances students' critical-thinking and innovation skills. The faculty aims to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for the labor market and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.

Deputy Dean for Quality Affairs, Dr. Abdulmajid Bajash, stressed the importance of training programs to develop academic staff and improve education quality. He noted ongoing efforts by the Center for Development and Quality Assurance to promote modern technologies and align with scientific progress.

Led by Dr. Munir Al-Ezzani, Deputy Director of the Center, the workshop included discussions on practical applications of workshop outcomes in classrooms and laboratories, emphasizing the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in agricultural disciplines.
