Hodeidah: The Tihama Coast Cooperative Fisheries Association in Hodeidah organized a training workshop focused on implementing the white loans project aimed at supporting small fishermen in the Red Sea coastal areas. This initiative is designed to empower local fishermen by providing financial assistance and resources necessary for improving their livelihoods.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop trained 10 loan officers within the association and its branches on the skills and mechanisms required for the effective implementation of the project. This project is supported by the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority and funded by the Zakat Authority. Dr. Ahmed Al-Kabsi, Chairman of the Small Enterprise Development Authority, reviewed the project’s implementation criteria and highlighted its objectives in empowering fishermen and enhancing their income.
Muhammad Hazza, Director of the Zakat Authority Office in the Governorate, emphasized the project’s significance in fulfilling the aspirations of fishermen and providing essential support. Furthermore, Muhammad Najib, Chairman of the Association, stressed the strategic importance of the project and acknowledged the role of supporting bodies in ensuring its success.
Upon concluding the workshop, and in the presence of the association’s leaders, an agreement was signed between the Project Development and Zakat Authority and the association. This agreement outlines the timetable for the first phase and sets the path for completing the necessary executive procedures.
