Yarmouk Football Team Wins Al-Ghamari Martyr Cup in Hodeida


Hodeida: The Yarmouk Sports and Cultural Team – Sana’a clinched the Martyr Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari Cup by defeating Al-Ahly Hodeida 2-0 in a match at Al-Alafi Stadium in Hodeida.



According to Yemen News Agency, the match was organized by the Football Association branch of the governorate under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office and drew a large crowd of spectators.



During the first half, both teams displayed an even performance, with Yarmouk maintaining a slight edge. This advantage was realized when Abdulwahab Al-Hakami scored in the 27th minute. Despite missing a penalty shortly after, Yarmouk ended the half with a 1-0 lead.



In the second half, Al-Ahly Hodeida intensified their offensive efforts to level the score. However, Yarmouk’s defense and goalkeeper successfully thwarted all attempts. Osama Al-Dahiya extended Yarmouk’s lead with a goal in the 68th minute, sealing a 2-0 victory.



The award ceremony for Yarmouk’s triumph was attended by key officials including Imad Al-Barai, Director of the Youth and Sports Office; Ahmed Al-Rajawi, Secretary-General of the Football Association Branch; other members of the association; and Hassan Rasmi, Secretary-General of the Mina District Local Council.



Yarmouk is set to compete in their next match this Thursday afternoon at Al-Alafi Stadium against the winner of this year’s Al-Hodeida Mawlid Al-Nabawi Championship, Shabab Al-Hilj, for the Mawlid Al-Nabawi Super Cup.
