Sana'a: Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban engaged in discussions on Wednesday with Senior Envoy of the World Food Programme (WFP) to Yemen Abdullah al-Wardat, focusing on strengthening cooperation to achieve joint health objectives. The meeting, which included the presence of Deputy Minister for Primary Healthcare Dr. Mohammed al-Mansour, emphasized the critical role of WFP's commitment to providing nutritional supplements for malnutrition cases and pregnant women, targeting the most affected and high-priority districts in the upcoming phase.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Shaiban provided an overview of the health situation in Yemen, highlighting the challenges faced by patients, particularly children and women suffering from malnutrition. He presented indicators related to mortality rates caused by these conditions, underlining the urgent need for intervention. Dr. Shaiban also confirmed the ministry's readiness to support WFP through its relevant departments in all implementation stages. This commitment aims to ensure the success of WFP's plans and programs, with the goal of expanding the reach of nutritional services to the largest possible number of people in need.
