Sana’a: The Government of Change and Construction has criticized recent remarks by US President Donald Trump regarding the displacement of Palestinians. Minister of Information Hashim Sharafeddin stated that Trump’s comments lack a deep understanding of the psyche of free peoples and demonstrate ignorance of the steadfast Palestinian psyche.
According to Yemen News Agency, the spokesperson emphasized that Trump’s suggestion for Palestinians to leave Gaza permanently fails to appreciate their strong attachment to their land. Sharafeddin likened the Palestinian resilience to that of an olive tree that remains rooted despite adversity. He argued that Trump’s statements seek to boost the morale of Zionists, who are unsettled by the return of one million Palestinians to their homes in northern Gaza.
Sharafeddin further highlighted the enduring Palestinian identity despite past conflicts and displacement. He criticized the perception that the Palestinians’ connection to their land could be erased, noting the surprise of adversaries at the resilience and return of Palestinians to their territory.
The spokesperson condemned what he described as an “occupationist and predatory psychology” evident in US policies, accusing the US of supporting Israeli aggression. He stated that both the US and Israel share an expansionist vision, aiming to dominate lands and peoples.
Sharafeddin concluded by reaffirming the Palestinians’ unwavering commitment to their homeland and their struggle for a free and independent Palestine. He called for recognition of Palestinian rights and emphasized that the Palestinian cause remains a significant concern for free people worldwide, with Yemen standing in solidarity with Palestine until the end of the occupation.
