Yemeni Meteorology Center Forecasts Thunderstorms in Multiple Provinces

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasts scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours. The center has issued warnings for residents in the affected areas to exercise caution.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that thunderstorms, possibly accompanied by hail, are expected in the governorates of Hajjah, Amran, Sana'a, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Al Dhale'e, Al Bayda, Taiz, and the Tihama Plain. Additionally, scattered rains with occasional thunder are likely in parts of Saada, Socotra, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut.

The center reported that rainfall over the past 24 hours, as measured at meteorological stations, reached 26 mm in Ibb, 12.4 mm in Al Mahwit, 7.8 mm at Taiz Airport, 4.4 mm in Hajjah, and 0.6 mm in Sana'a Haddah. Rainfall of varying intensity also occurred outside the stations in parts of Lahj, Ad Dali', Al Bayda, Raymah, Dhamar, Socotra, the Tihama Plain, and western Shabwah.

The center has warned citizens about the possibility of flash floods in valleys and ravines and advised against crossing or staying in these areas during and after rainfall. Additionally, it cautioned about strong downward winds, hail, and thunderstorms, urging people to take necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.

Warnings were also issued regarding poor visibility due to rain, low clouds, and fog, especially on roads and mountain slopes. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and prepare for potential weather disruptions.
