Sana'a: Yemeni Parliament praised the courageous positions of the Spanish and British parliaments regarding the aggression and brutal siege being subjected to by the Palestinian people.
According to Yemen News Agency, this commendation was expressed in two letters sent by the Yemeni House of Representatives to the President of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies, Francina Armengol, and the Speaker of the British House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle.
In the first letter, the Yemeni Parliament expressed appreciation for the Spanish Chamber of Deputies' stance against the massacres and genocide affecting the Palestinian people. The Yemeni Parliament highlighted the Spanish Chamber's initiative to issue a resolution that bans the sale of arms to Israel, accusing it of practicing genocide and ethnic cleansing.
The second letter commended the British House of Commons for its stance in questioning ministers about arms exports to Israel and the subsequent closure of several arms factories linked to the Israeli entity. The Yemeni Parliament underscored these actions as critical steps towards holding Israel accountable for its alleged crimes over the past seventy years, which have intensified in recent years in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
In both letters, the Yemeni Parliament highlighted ongoing atrocities and systematic destruction against the Palestinian people in Gaza, emphasizing the severe humanitarian impact, including the demolition of homes. The Parliament reported that the number of casualties in Gaza has exceeded 53,000, with over 122,000 wounded, predominantly women and children.
The letters also addressed the severe humanitarian crisis caused by policies of starvation, denial of food and medical aid, and forced displacement in Gaza. The Yemeni Parliament criticized the international community for its inaction, which it argued has enabled Israel's ongoing military actions. Furthermore, the letters condemned the support of certain countries for Israel through the supply of weapons, suggesting it has emboldened further acts of violence.
