Sana'a:The Yemeni Scholars Association issued a statement condemning remarks made by Saudi Arabia's mufti, Saleh Al-Fawzan, against the Yemeni people. The association criticized Al-Fawzan for making false accusations, including claims that Yemenis are targeting Mecca, and accused him of spreading misinformation under the influence of Saudi leadership.
According to Yemen News Agency, The statement expressed regret over what it described as the role of some scholars in inciting strife and spreading lies. It highlighted concerns that such scholars prioritize their allegiance to political rulers over religious principles, and criticized the Saudi regime for various actions, including its relationship with Western powers and treatment of Islamic sites.
The association urged Saudi scholars, including the mufti, to speak truthfully about the actions of the Saudi regime and to oppose injustices against Yemen. They called for an end to the aggression and siege on Yemen, advocating for peace and unity among Muslims instead of fabricating conflicts.
