Yemeni Women’s Union Empowers Families Through Economic Projects

Dhamar: The Yemeni Women's Union branch in Dhamar governorate has launched economic empowerment projects for the second quarter of 2025, targeting 15 families with support from UNFPA under the 'Safe Space' livelihood program. The initiative aims to improve living conditions for families through small, income-generating projects.

According to Yemen News Agency, the program benefits women who have completed intensive training in food production and mobile decoration. Union head Faiza al-Azzani highlighted the program's role in supporting female breadwinners and families dealing with chronic illness.

Hafitha al-Roudhi, Director of Safe Spaces, stated that the project has supported 85 families so far, including 70 empowered women trained in previous stages. The current phase provides equipment for food industries, fruit drying, handicrafts, and mobile decoration after three months of skills training.
